We all have heard of the line “ Be a good neighbor”. Now we are giving you a new tool to take that goodness to the next level. That’s through learning a lifesaving skill called CPR.

CPR stands for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, which is an emergency procedure consisting of chest compressions often combined with artificial ventilation in an effort to manually preserve intact the brain’s function.

After having seen youngsters like Puneeth Rajkumar, Chiranjeevi Sarja, Sidharth Shukla, and many others succumb to heart-related emergencies, it makes it even more vital to learn CPR, which undoubtedly will save lives.

Types of heart-related emergencies that can occur in a residential complex

A heart attack occurs when the flow of blood to the heart is blocked. The blockage is most often a buildup of fat, cholesterol, and other substances, which form a plaque in the arteries that feed the heart (coronary arteries). Sometimes, a plaque can rupture and form a clot that blocks blood flow

Cardiac arrest is the abrupt loss of heart function, breathing, and consciousness. The condition usually results from a problem with your heart’s electrical system, which disrupts your heart’s pumping action and stops blood flow to your body.

stroke occurs when the blood supply to part of your brain is interrupted or reduced, preventing brain tissue from getting oxygen

Why is it important to have the knowledge of CPR if you’re living in a residential complex

The most obvious and rewarding reason to learn CPR is that you can save lives. Even learning the basics can help circulate the person’s blood until the ambulance arrives.

Imagine saving your neighbor’s life with whom you’ve shared space for years. This can be the only reason why you’d want to learn CPR. Why would you need more?

Plan a CPR training program for all adults in your apartments. By doing so, you won’t just be ensuring your neighbor’s life, but if any cardiac emergency happens in your household, your neighbors can help you too.

CPR is a human skill that can be utilized in many situations. Especially if you’re someone with heart problems in your family, this should be something you should try to be perfect at.

In cardiac arrest, the heart stops pumping blood to the brain, which is ultimately called death. CPR artificially pumps the blood to the brain and keeps it active till advanced help arrives.

You know how the saying goes, knowledge is power. Even if you never had to use CPR, at least you’ve learned a new skill. Since it’s so easy to do, you’ll remember for the years to come.
