NABH Standards for Ambulance stories

In Chapter 2, Care of Patients, basically C.O.P.3 says

“Ambulance services ensure safe patient transportation with appropriate care.”

Commitment a. The organization has access to ambulance services commensurate with the scope of the services provided by it.

Commitment b. There are adequate access and space for the ambulance(s).

Commitment c. The ambulance(s) is fit for purpose and is appropriately equipped.

Commitment e. The ambulance(s) is checked daily.

Commitment g. A mechanism is in place to ensure that emergency medications are available in the ambulance.

Commitment h. The ambulance(s) has a proper communication system.

They mean to say that all the ambulances ought to be equipped with the appropriate ambulance stretcher as different ambulances like:

  • BLS
  • ICU mobile
  • Medical and Nursing Care Vehicle
  • Individual Ambulance
  • Collective Ambulance
  • And more…

All these different types of Ambulances need different types of ambulances stretchers, staff, medical supplies that are to be maintained inside the ambulance for treating and stabilizing the patient till they reach the hospital.

Since there’s no separate standards for ambulance stretchers we believe this is what NABH has to convey to us.

The purpose of an ambulance stretcher is to provide aid to the seriously injured patient with better quality equipment used in developing stretcher.

We are proud to have hired the required personnel for designing the ultimate stretcher and deliver high-quality ones within the given timeframe.
